In his recent post, philologist brought to my attention an early 20th Century Chicago artist I never heard of. Virginia Frances Sterrett specialized in illustrating folk tale book collections. She struggled with tuberculosis since she was 19, ultimately succumbing to it when she was only 30. But she left behind a pretty impressive work - as philologist's post aptly demonstrates.
