these last couple of weeks have been pretty fun, today was just ridiculous though. I despise April Fools Day. I can safely say I got tricked about 3 times. oh well, its all in good fun.
Right now Im in the process of compiling a mix cd for lindsey and amanda. I really like doing stuff like this, sharing the music I listen to and stuff. even if they don't like it. I think it helps you know someone to a much higher degree when you know what kind of sounds sound enjoyable to them.
Ive been reading alot of really good books lately that make me just excited about life in general. Im really interested in this book im reading about Contemporary shamanism. Its basically a documentary of this guys adventures with psychedelics and once in a while he spends a chapter relaying information he knows about the subject matter. He's done stuff like gone to africa to get initiated with the Bwiti tribe in Gabon.....and the Burning Man Festival in black rock city nevada.
Indians are incredibly intriguing to me....the way they lived.... being so close to the earth, actually having respect for it, alll their rituals and traditions, just the complexity of their culture is beautiful and genuine... I feel like they had the right idea. its such a dramatic change looking at our culture now in the united states. land that was respected and basically worshipped is now scarred and covered with concrete [suffocated].
