It seems hard for Austin to go a day without an accident on some major highway. Which is crippling, as there are only a couple of them in the city.
But today, the newsreaders had a real treat, and I could feel the amusement drip from my speakers, that there was today "an accident involvinga bus, a truck, and an oil spill".
My guess is that the accident occurred when they all walked into a bar.
On the news front, it's nice to see some emphasis on covering politics that actually means something. Like, say, tax policy. The most vital power to making the government wheels turn, and the power to make or destroy any activity or property in the nation.
The Obama camp once again failed its highly touted objectives, though. His head-o-economic-advising said that by pulling out of Iraq, the nation would save umpteen billions of dollars. Fine. The interviewer pressed, though, saying that the plan calls for reallocating much of that money to other international projects. The advisor agreed.
So, wait... are you saving or spending that money? You don't get to do both. Saving is defined as not spending. Spending as not saving. Pulling out of Iraq is not "saving" anything when the money gets used elsewhere.
But of course, taxation and spending still aren't an executive power. Don't let my reality get in the way of your politicking, though. You have fun with that.
