BREATHE!
It might be your connection, if a lot of people are on the network and such then it will slow you down.
Have you had the computer on for a long time?
What else are you doing on the computer?
I'm assuming you have a fast connection at school, right?

In my desperation, I rebooted the entire computer and tried re-starting the DL. Now it predicts 4 hours 18 minutes, and I can live with that. *G*

I think you're probably right with the connection thing... We get the internet here through the apartment, so if everybody's home and using it... :-P (But, nope, I just turned the computer on when I got home, and I'm doing nothin' else except talking to you. *G*)

Okay, so I'm not entirely sure how we're like bats, but my brain convinced me that it had something to do with locating each other through fangirl-squeaking radar. I apologize for my brain!

Ah, but my computer has a funny little glitch where, if the screensaver comes on, it disconnects from the Internet. And won't re-connect until I reboot. T'is a temperamental beastie. (Oh, it was beautiful. He wanted to file a personal injury claim against someone who had bumped him with their truck in a crosswalk. What's the nature of your injury, asks the Megan. Well, I wasn't actually injured, says the planet-man. So I gave him the number for Legal Aid and wished him a nice day. *hides* Legal Aid must adore us!)

That is very odd. There should be a way to shut off the screensaver. I have mine off on Linara Blaze. [I bet it was... *laughs* You need to have a hidden camera in your dorm and put it up on YouTube for fun]
