[Well, Captain Aubrey has been in Luceti one night, arrived by the good will - or not - of Captain Sparrow and Lieutenant Kennedy and survived by the grace of Captain Hornblower's hospitality. Hazzah

I would prefer to home to here, sir, I must say.
[Hornblower is keeping up with the other captain due to long, even strides.
With only his clothes and Mr. Kennedy's to raid, finding anything to fit the much larger Captain Aubrey had proven, at best, difficult. Even clothes too large for him had suited the other man poorly.
Still, with the shops of Luceti, if they could not find Aubrey's clothes, they could likely find something that would fit him much better.]

[He hums musingly as he peers into a window, brought down by the thought. His ship and crew never left his mind but with the strange new things he was suddenly surrounded with, the novelty of it all came close to over-shadowing the never-ending dread in his belly. Which, clearly, could be solved with food. Lots, and lots, of food.]
As would I, sir, as would I. But it seems we're rather strung up, eh?
[....He means 'have our hands tied behind our back'. But whatever.]
You mentioned that we might be able to produce my uniform, as well?
[action]seventeensirSeptember 12 2011, 22:04:28 UTC
[...Strung...
Horatio is going to nod and half pretend he heard nothing. That phrase unsettles him, certainly, but not enough to complain.]
I was able to acquire mine the first day I went out looking for it. Mr. Kennedy told me that it does sometimes take time, but I hope that it shall be found easily.
Your sword as well.
[That had been his first concern after his uniform, after all.]
[action]straightatemSeptember 13 2011, 01:30:19 UTC
Good, good. I wouldn't like to have that missing as well.
[It was a comfort to know that his sword might be here as well. But he wondered after his violin. And Stephen.]
Tell me, Hornblower, do you it'd be possible that since the clothes on our backs and my sword could be here -- simply waiting -- that other objects could too?
[action]seventeensirSeptember 13 2011, 01:44:51 UTC
My pistol and spyglass found their way here, sir. I don't think it would be impossible that your violin would.
Though, as I said, it may not be immediate. [For his own sake, he half hoped they would not find the fiddle today, lest he be forced to sit through its screeching as a good host ought to do.]
[action]straightatemSeptember 13 2011, 02:55:41 UTC
[Jack smiled at the offer, attempting not to get his hopes up but Christ his violin would be a welcomed comfort. All he would want with it would be a partner to play with. Very quietly he spoke again, more to himself than Horatio.]
What a world.
[A moment or two to reflect before he's back to his chipper self.]
Which is the place for clothes now? Not that I am ungrateful but these are mighty snug.
[action]straightatemSeptember 14 2011, 01:53:50 UTC
I'm obliged to you, Hornblower.
[A quiet reminder to himself to not laugh or smile to himself at saying the man's name. Though it was very tempting. He walked into the shop and whistled tunelessly.]
[action]straightatemSeptember 14 2011, 02:34:04 UTC
...So they are.
[He pauses because what he found was a very familiar floral printed coat, suited to his time to be sure. But worn in on the elbows and sleeves as if someone had used it to do manual labor in.
Familiar but...not enough that he could place it. He simply thought it queer and continued on his search, coming across a mesh-floor length coat and one made of plastic. Though he didn't know it was plastic.]
[action]straightatemSeptember 14 2011, 02:50:44 UTC
Here's to hoping, eh?
[He smiled faintly, unnerve by all these clothes and their variety. His wings twitched ever so often. Like their owner, they didn't have any trouble reacting as they pleased.]
Ah! Look here, Hornblower!
[He pulls out a cream colored waistcoat with gold buttons. It looks exactly like his, even in size.
[action]straightatemSeptember 14 2011, 04:00:46 UTC
[He's still laughing about his victory over ill-fitting garments. Just to make sure it's his, he goes to put it on only to find that it will not fit. Impossible!
Then he remembers the wings and grumbles as he drapes it over his arm.]
[action]straightatemSeptember 16 2011, 01:51:38 UTC
Hmmn.
[He doesn't sound so sure Horatio, but he continues to go through the clothes, staring at whatever seems close to the color of his uniform as he does. When he lets his mind wander only then does he speak again.]
I'm sure Stephen would've be most delighted with them.

A violin, perhaps?

[He opens the door for the senior officer, ushering him in.]
We'll see if we can't find you something more comfortable at the very least, sir.

[He looked around the shop, beginning to sort through the jackets he could find.]
Sadly, things are very poorly organised.

Damned chicken wings. Like a dodo or whathaveyou.

[He makes a slight movement of his head over his shoulder. His jacket over his wings.]
They... You don't forget they're there, but they feel... more natural? after awhile. Though not.
It's still very curious, even now.
