laptop repair, sort of

My laptop was having increasing problems. I had already used the Windows key to replace the Q (which had fallen off.) Also, the battery life was fairly weak, and the power adapter was only working occasionally -- you sort of had to tweak it. Eventually, it just stopped turning on.

So, after finding that CashForLaptops wasn't offering much for it (although such things don't), I figured, well, I need to scrub the hard drive, might as well open it up. Which I did; the design is slightly awkward to deal with, but really not bad (MSI Wind U100.) Nothing looked amiss, so I eventually got all (or most) of the screws back in (and cracked some plastic in the process.) Pressed the power switch, and lo! it booted.

So: all good, except for the matter of the cracked plastic. And wondering if there are intermittent lurking problems yet. Humph.
