Had my first official trip out to school for the new semester. We had a pre-field orientation workshop today...and it was required. Bleh. The good thing is that it counts toward our field hours (you have to have something like 342 hours this semester), so that's 4 hours down. Woo! It was incredibly boring, though. It covered the basics...paperwork we need to get done and turned in, things to cover as we get into our placements, safety issues and plans, and meeting with our liaisons. Dani, Sam, and I sat together, which led to a lot of joking around and all around ridiculous conversation.
I actually headed out there early to meet up with them. We rode the bus in to campus together and got some lunch. Sam came out here for NYE, but it was the first time I had seen Dani since the end of last semester. We have such a good time together, the three of us. :)
I also got to get most of my textbooks...I'm only missing two, which are both for my policy class, because the prof e-mailed us and told us to get them online - they're much cheaper that way. So I have to look the darn things up and order them.
It's kind of sad that the semester is starting already. But I have to admit, I'm ready for it. Time to be productive again.
Tomorrow, my friend Lauren is stopping by for a bit later in the morning. Then I'm meeting with Danielle to shop for her wedding dress. That will be fun. I'm going to find some super lacy, super poufy, super ugly dresses and she must try them on. It will be fabulous. I'm excited to help her with wedding stuff. :) I can't believe she's getting married this year. Dang. But yay!
Wednesday morning I have my first class. As you can see, I'm up crazy late typing this...I've gotten into a bad schedule habit. I've got to get my arse into bed at a decent time tomorrow night so that I can make it out to school on time. I'm probably meeting Jay for coffee either that evening or on Thursday. It'll be fun.
After mid-week, my schedule is nice and open. Which means I'll be working on the first set of readings I'll get...plus anything my profs e-mail me (because they have a nasty habit of doing that kind of thing). I'm going to try to relax as much as possible before Monday. Once next week starts, life gets crazy.
One of the things we have to do for our field placement paperwork is fill out an educational agreement. We have to set goals and such for each semester for things we'd like to focus on learning in our internship. We also have to set one personal goal. Mine? Time management. Not that I'm always late for everything, but rather that I'm a procrastinator and tend to not get things done early, even when I plan to.
This is the most rambling, random entry. Sorry about that. It's late. I'm tired. And my TMJ is acting up really bad. My jaw is just aching, which is giving me a headache. I'm off to bed.
Night!
