idle tuesday update
so i just landed a project with The Laudi Group. it's a toronto based executive search firm. they need a designer for some new web development stuff. it's another one month contract. woot! i had originally thought this contract was for roger's media... oops.
so i've been at this freelance thing for 5 months now and it's worked like this: i get a month of solid work and i'm super busy. then i get 3 weeks to a month off. then i get another month of super busy. and then back to chilling. and then back to busy. i kinda like that. it gives me the time to do all the playground stuff i want and it allows me to maintain a consistent gig with ICICI throughout, so i've always got some cash comin' in. i think i'm building this exactly as i should be.
what this particular gig with laudi group also means is a new car. i do want to wait till may, but still... it's nice to be ready for it. i talked to my insurance company and got quotes on prices and stuff, and i've scouted and researched vehicles. it still looks like an RSX for me.
the release of the magazine is delayed. some pieces of the process kinda fell through at the last minute, but we'll be up and running and better than ever by this week, for sure.
my mom bought a new car and we've been preparing the house for sale the last few days. we've got an appraiser coming and soon there's gonna be strangers walkin' through it, imagining their furniture in our corners. we've always been a pretty nomadic family. every place i've lived in has always felt kind of temporary. but this house, for what it's worth, has felt the most like home.
i might take a trip to philly this weekend. chill out with my dad for a bit. it's been a minute since i've been down there.
