Christmas was good. Really good. For the first time ever I saw my entire family on Christmas. Every single person I am related to without a "second" or a distant "great" attatched to the name. Plus the fireplace burned brightly every day from Saturday until last night. Very nice.

I was just reminded of "best of" lists and the NPR list by Jon Winter's post. I actually voted in their count and was glad, I guess, though a bit surprised, to see that 3 of my top 5 were also in their top 5. Sufjan, White Stripes, and Decemberists were all among my favorite this year. What I knew they certainly would not have, though, were Denison Witmer and Architecture in Helsinki. It made me smile to hear that a listener called in to talk about Architecture though. They are definitely deserving of mention.

I want to hear Clap Your Hands Say Yeah more. I've only heard the album a couple of times. That, and The Go! Team, whom I have only heard one song by. But I suppose I may not have the motivation to actually spend money on these things. I still get music sometimes, almost out of habit it seems, and almost entirely off used cd racks, but it certainly does not excercise control over my finances like it once did.

Man, plus I worked at Target this year. I am so corporate.
