Weekend Blues

Rant time!

This weekend started out bad, went slightly better around lunch, then lurched back down to...well, I don't have a polite word for it. At least something good (if ya can call it that) happened while I was typing this...I had to go back and fix this paragraph slightly :)

Just as I was about to leave for work, my dad told me that a notice had come from the post office. Apparently, my orders from Amazon.com has arrived. My dad told me that this type of mail (registered post) needs to be taken by the recipient themselves, because the post office requires a show of identification for the mail to be given.
So I went to the post office, directly opposite from my office. Arrived there, went through post office red tape, and was seated at a waiting area. And boy, were they right when they named it 'waiting area'. Apparently, the officer chose that day to go and pay his electricity bill before coming to work. So I waited and waited and waited. For an hour. When he finally came, I rushed everything and got back to my car in 7 minutes flat. I rushed to work and managed to be only two hours late. No worries, my work has been piling anyway.

By lunch, my throat was sore and my head was pounding. I'm having one of the worst headaches of my life (still am, actually). But I managed to drag myself to go to a hardware store and got myself a bargain DVD/CD-R combo drive (with box!) which I now have installed on my office PC. My supervisor says it's alright as long as I don't forget to take it with me when I quit. Good advice.

But then that midget project manager had to ruin my day. I kinda understand his reasoning, and I can't really blame it on him, but I gotta take it on someone, right? Heh. So here's the turn of events. My colleague's son was hospitalized for bronchitis. He had to go home early to be with him, leaving me and a pile of work to be done. So, to get things rolling a little bit better, both my colleague and I must come to work tomorrow. On a Saturday. Lovely.

Then God smiled at me slightly (might be a grin, can't see well with all the halo). The building was already booked for a systematic anti-mosquito spraying in order to fight dengue fever. The spraying starts at nine tomorrow, starting from the top floor (floor above mine). Calculating that it'll require about an hour to finish my floor, and giving it two hours for the smell to go away, my colleague and I decided to come after lunch. Excellent. I had been planning to sleep in this weekend. Coming in at Saturday destroys that, but the reschedule allows it again. Well, at least until 11am. Traffic should be non-existent on the business district on Saturdays...right? Meh, I'll worry about that tomorrow.

This is me and my luck roller coaster ride, signing off, before everything goes down again.

Cheers,
SQ

P.S.: My head hurts. Stupid headache. I know how to cheer myself. BNG4EVR! Yay! Oh noes! I forgot to continue KM's ¼ century birthday present fic! ...Did I make you feel old, KM? Here's an insincere apology: (points) Ha-ha! XD Ah, don't fret over it. I'm two and three quarter months older than you, yet I got no life. Here's something sincere, then.

Happy birthday, KM!
