Bookstore closing

Received an unwelcome postcard today. Our local bookshop is bowing to the forces of the ebook world and will be closing Aug. 31.

What is the future of the actual, physical book? Will Amazon eventually be the only place we can buy real books?

This is depressing. Very depressing.
