Exactly my thoughts, but between Nano and Yuletide the end of the year is packed, so I thought about doing the sign ups in August and the writing in September October, or maybe overlapping three months, I don't know that yet.
In retrospect, I believe this theme was too hard. And I'm glad you want to participate, yeah!
Well, we're in July, and since sign-ups last a month, that would make them happening now. I meant August as a sign up period and September/October to write. Maybe a week as amnesty period, which wasn't really useful this time.

I think a week is long enough, I feel an 'amnesty' should be used to finish a story, just a LITTLE extra time, because you were unable to post for whatever reason. But a whole month... In that period I could write 5 NEW stories.
I found 6 with a 1k minimum just too tough in the timeframe sorry! It doesn't mean I wont sign up again, but it did mean I realised very early I wasn't going to be able to do it, unless the *only* writing I did during that period was for story_lottery.
I'd really love it if maybe there was a 500 word minimum, with the proviso that at least 3 were 1k +? Just a thought :)
I only suggested an August start because I really wanted to do this during this round and things got completely out of hand. But if starting so quickly would be difficult I'd want to participate whenever the next round starts.
That's the thing, I feel like we're barely recovering from round 1! I'd love to make it happen Sept to Nov, but Nano would take writers away from the challenge.
Glad to know you want to participate. Thank you ;)
I'm seconding ice_elf's advisory against November - though I don't see any issues using October (since it is only a planning month for NaNoWriMo).
I do love the theme idea! It doesn't really matter whether the prompts are known or not before hand, I really enjoyed this challenge and I would do it again! It's not like the other comms where you sign up for hundreds of stories, you're limited to a more pared down number and should you be able to write for more prompts, you can. I loved it! Brilliant! You put a lot of effort into this and I'd love to see you run the lottery again!
Thank you very much for your kind words, and congratulations, you won the lottery!
I'm thinking about posting the theme (I already know it ;) behind a cut, therefore those who want to know click it, the others can remain spoiler free.

I voted for a new round in August, September, October. September would be the month to submit, which is still do-able, October the 'amnesty' period.
As I will most likely NOT participate in the NaNoWriMo, November would not be problem either, but as ice elf said, you might lose some other writers.
