After Lothar gave
two more walls a hug and
leapt up three more floors, we found ourselves in the lobby. We also found a number of heavily-armed (and intact-eyed) security guards waiting for us.
Lothar dropped me on the floor and stood between me and the guards. "Into the elevator," he commanded, as the guards opened fire. "No, not that one, the second one on the other side!" I got into the elevator he had indicated, as the phaser bolts from the guards deflected from a point about .47 meters in front of Lothar. Janeway may not have [re]gained control of Lothar, but it seemed as though his cybernetic capabilities have been repaired, if not upgraded. He also seemed more coherent and stable than he had been previously, even before he lost the ability to communicate in any way other than through song.
I got into the elevator and held the door for Lothar, so that he wouldn't have to dive through it. I examined my surroundings as Lothar jumped aboard and the elevator doors closed -- this elevator appeared to have been installed or repaired recently, and not very capably. The walls were cheap sheetrock, and were crooked at all of the uneven corners and edges. Was Starfleet now contracting maintenance to the lowest bidder?
"What floor should we go to?" I asked.
"Doesn't matter," said Lothar.
"We need to get a ship of some sort," I suggested.
"We're already in a ship," he replied...
