December 26, Monday: At the Shrine, 12:02 am

Saki sat on the floor of her room with her legs under her kotatsu, the low table with heater built underneath warmed her legs and the cup of hot coco warmed the rest of her. Arashi’s cat Miyu lay fast asleep under the table sucking up the heat. Today was a pretty relaxing day, her parents allowed her to take a break from shrine duties and enjoy the holiday even if they were not Christian. Her parents were nice enough to get her a present a really beautiful tea set. After that Arashi spent her day meditating and reading the fire. She felt her time was wasting though knowing all the work the shrine still had to do.

Her father alone spent most of the day working on the shrine repairs so his office work was behind. Arashi took it to her room curled under her kotatsu and began to balance the books. Her rest was going to be short lived and before she knew it classes would be back in session. Arashi stretched out her sore muscles and petted her sleeping cat that was purring under the table. The clock in the hallway let Arashi know it was time for bed Christmas was long over. Arashi smiled as a figure in white drifted past the door the female spirit of the house was never late to impress and no matter how many times her brother Kiyoshi exorcised the house the lady in white never left. She was a pleasant spirit so Arashi didn’t mind.
