Much accomplished even though Linnea and Ian were unwell (with colds):

Made knack.
Made gingerbread dough (to bake on Tuesday), with Linnea's help.
Made two fruitcakes with Linnea's help (both covered in marzipan and icing, only one decorated because I'm practicing for the second one, which is a present for Mark).

Today marks the end of 101 things in 1001 days. I only had 59 goals, and only achieved 18, but I still think it was more than I expected when I began! (There are actually 7 or 8 that I expect to manage by the end of this year too.) My 20s were full of adventure and high drama, I'm hoping for more of the former and less of the latter for my 30s. Nea said, "bubufly" yesterday, while playing with a butterfly window decal. It had been several minutes since I last said it and there were lots of other bugs around so I was very proud :) Over the weekend she's started saying, "apen," whenever she wants to draw with the marker pens. She points too but it's very clear and consistently said.

After feeling blue for a few days (despite a good weekend with Mark and Linnea at the Harbour Festival) I needed a good evening, and I got it! :) Jog-walked home from work in 23 minutes without dying. Picked up Linnea and we had a bath. She was happy enough with her (my) (black) rubber duckie and a (shower gel) bottle that I managed to read a whole ( Read more... )

I am SO GLAD that the year I was 27 is over. SO VERY GLAD. I need to never have a year in which I give birth and end a 6+ year long relationship to move out on my own ever again. I am ready for a new year! I am ready for 28! Things that I am looking forward to most at the moment:

• changed the baby
• Fed myself
• Fed the baby
• danced with the baby
• washed and polished all the windows

Today was much better than the last few days. My mealtimes have been totally off since being sick and I think as well as having spent a couple of days at Mark's has contributed to making me such a grumpypuss. Anyway, today was much better!

This weekend I have achieved one of my new year's resolutions. I'm well on my way to the second one (though it's more of an ongoing thing rather than once or twice). The other two are more health-related and I was expecting them to take more of this year anyway.
