Haley's Comet and Me!

Jan 23, 2009 21:09

I swear we have so much in common. I used to have a tail (you know, that fake ponytail some guys have, where like 10 hairs are kept longer despite every haircut they get?), we both get around, and I also seem only to appear on rare occurrences!

And its probably been something like 78 years or so since I last graced my friends here with a little bit about me, so I thought it might be time for a little update on me.

Life goes on. Rent-A-Center is treating me decently enough. That is to say, I have a steady job with decent pay and regular hours. With today's economy, that's outstanding. Of course, add to my 50 hour work week a full time college schedule, and my day gets rather hectic. At least I avoided a typical schedule, and am taking my classes on-line through University of Phoenix. Yes, I have given up chasing after computers, and am using mine to pursue... accounting!

OK, so it might not be the most glamorous field in the world. But I have always been good with numbers, and the average starting pay is more then i am making now after 15 years in the workforce. My lack of a formal education has cost me a lot in both self respect, and income potential, and I don't intend to let it continue any longer.

Home life is going well. Six and a half years of marriage, and I still feel like a newlywed. The house is in need of some minor maintenance. The faucets have been on the list the longest, but the bathroom light switch needs to be replaced and the spare room's ceiling fan just fell down the other day. Let's just say I'm glad we didn't have company spending the night that night.

Free time is a premium, even more so than before, as I have been transferred to a store that is about 20 minutes further away due to a store closing. But just as before, no one was fired due to the closing store, and I use it to remind myself of the security of my job. My World of Warcraft time has expired, and I do not know when I will reactivate my account. There is plenty to keep me busy for the time being.

While, for those that have read this far, I thank you for your interest and concern for me, and hope that many less days will pass before I have the opportunity to visit again.
