the year that passed us by

Filched from weasleyismyking

1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before? Went on a trip by myself.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Didn't make any and I don't plan on making any this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Uhhhh... no.

4. Did anyone close to you die? A great-uncle whom I never really felt any close kinship with (mostly I dislike my great-aunt because she talks like a baby and looooves my mother as though she were one of the seven wonders)

5. What countries did you visit? Scotland and the north of England!

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010? A boyfriend, a job I like, my own place, and I'll try to work on getting a license (that last reads a bit like a resolution, mm?)

7.What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

Mid-April, I think: Praline poked my eye and I spent a torturous Religion final crying my eye out.
May 14th: Hasta la vista, Montréal. Hello, Glasgow! My plane ride to Scotland begins and ends with a stomachache.
May 14th-28th: Most awesome two weeks of my life... spent with mostly seniors, mind, but I had a blast!
May 31st: I learned that I graduated! Goodbye, Concordia (university)!
June 16th: My first "real" job begins four days before my birthday.
September: I got the first inklings that my itchy nether regions might not be "just a heat rash" after all. Thus begins a journey into is-it-or-is-it-not lichen sclerosis (still!)
September 10th: I finally post the epilogue to The Guardian Brotherhood (aka my HP novel)
December 23rd: my skin biopsy with the gynecologist (at Lakeshore, the hospital where I was born! I was still filed under "Baby [lastname]" lol)
December 31st: The first time I ever got truly drunk. Playing board games, too, lulz. I'm a happy drunk and I wish there were videos. We were so funny ;P

8.What was your biggest achievement of the year? Going off on my own :)

9. What was your biggest failure? Getting a job that doesn't challenge me with hypocritical idiots.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Not until December 23rd :(  Lesson of the day: don't freak out too much; your back might hurt like a bitch afterward.

11. What was the best thing you bought? A plane ticket!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? My nephew's :) He's a bright ball of joy all the time.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Wow. Umm... I guess I'll just say my mother because it's a recurring occurence, but practically everyone disappoints me all the time.

14. Where did most of your money go? Scotland trip. All four thousand dollars and counting. I treat it as an investment, 'cause really, I can't complain.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Again, Scotland.

16. What song will always remind you of 2010? Haha the song that's still stuck in my head after weeks of first hearing it in You're Beautiful: What Should I Do? (Otto Kajo)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? a bit happier
b) thinner or fatter? Uh, not really changed I would think
18. What do you wish you’d done more of? Exercise. Sex?
19. What do you wish you’d done less of? Worrying
20. How will you be spending Christmas? I spent Christmas with my parents and older sister.
21. Did you fall in love in 2010? No
22. How many one-night stands? None

23. What was your favorite TV program? You're Beautiful lately because it was such perfection, and umm... this French (QC) show called Mauvais Karma because it's a series of insane twists and turns that you can't even predict and I love it. Other than that I haven't been watching much TV because my schedule needs to be fucked to Friday.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? Yep. One guess who (many) from my last answer.

25. What was the best book you read? My re-read of JR Ward's Lover Avenged, and all of what I've read by Sandra Brown.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery? Darren Criss (on Glee then A Very Potter Musical although I continue to persist that holy crap I could have fallen in love earlier until I refused to because I though youtube would make my internet explode), kpop (Korean pop) and Bollywood music.

27. What did you want and get? Books.

28. What did you want and not get? Uh... love?

29. What was your favorite film of this year? Inception.

30. What did you do on your birthday? Worked. Yeah how glamorous.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Uhh... Lots of things really.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010? Nice casual at work, although I toned it down tonnes because everyone just wears jeans and t-shirts there. Completely frumpy-comfy at home, which is the best.

33. What kept you sane? The internet.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Darren Criss and Jang Geun Suk

35. What political issue stirred you the most? LGBT rights. Canadian/Quebec politics, IDEK man, it's a nut house in there.

36. Who did you miss? Everyone from college. My program in university was such bullshit, but in college I liked what I was doing and the people there felt like a family. I fucking miss designing, for real.

37. Who was the best new person you met? Chris, aka recycled_sales! Wish I could have stayed in Edinburgh longer!

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010? Just let go.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: I can't think of one right now.

life, friends, health, scotland, meme
