So. I did not mention on LJ that I was getting my wisdom teeth taken out today, but twitterites heard about it :)
Woke up early, checked the specialist's pamphlet to make sure I couldn't eat for 3 HOURS before the surgery (my appointment was at 8:40), took my Ibuprofen, and then drowsily walked over to my bus stop. I'll be honest, I freaked out a bit last night, but not today (perhaps because I wasn't yet awake-awake ;) and when they actually connected my finger to the heart rate monitor, it was all regular and calm and I'm proud of myself. While the specialist was preparing my shot (I forget the name, but it's not morphine and he said it's something that often makes you laugh...?) we talked about the finer points that make morphine and whatever-it-was and it was all fine and dandy. And then he went to work and I drowsed some more.
The last time I had "dental" surgery was for my gums (they were receding from my molars) so I'm familiar with the grinding noises and all, but last time I had music in my ears to drown out the noise. They offered a CD player but I refused this time. Dunno why, but anyway, the point is I'm a very good patient like that ;)
Not much else to talk about right now. Working on reducing my squirrel cheeks is hard work!
