This is the exposition to Warren Peace, pretty much the character that made me stick my head into fanfiction.net's Sky High fic and forum sections. He's a brooding soul, a bookworm, a friendly face once you get past the bullheaded loner façade. His power? He's a pyro. And he's tattooed. And he's played by Steven Strait, who doesn't hurt the eye at all :) But nah, it was really the dichotomy of his character that drew me in. Who is he, you know? What did his mother see into his dad? What does he see in his dad? Why does he react so defensively when people talk about his dad? etc etc. He's a fascinating one, for sure. And then, the ending is left so open-ended with his character going off with a girl who can either freeze stuff or create light bursts... I WANT MOAR. But *kicks Disney* looks like that trilogy they envisioned isn't going to happen after all. Boo!Huh, he's actually a really interesting character. His parents! His powers
( ... )
I remember a while back one of the writers came forward and said he wished they'd gotten the go-ahead for another film, at least. Obviously, it could have been a fake so I don't know, but I do choose to believe they may have wanted that. Who doesn't want to make sequels? ;)
There's actually an allegedly shitty copycat version of Sky High called Zoom, though I'm not sure if Disney made that one too or not. But honestly? I've seen pictures and video clips, and... meh.
Huh, just saw this while lurking IMDB's message boards trying to find that post from the writer claiming they were trying to get Disney's go-ahead for a sequel. Disney bought Marvel so... all hope is not lost? *crosses fingers* That would be so awesome, because while it's campy it had a great storyline. I have some beef with Will's character doing a 180 regarding his lack-oh-not-really of powers. "Sidekicks are just as good" doesn't hold quite the same weight when you suddenly sprout two superpowers, ya know?
