So I'm a fast worker. Got an oral early tomorrow in my Digital Nomad class, and here's the guy I just picked:
Arthur Ganson. Check out his stuff, he's pretty fun and awesome. Created
Toobers & Zots toys for kids :) I mean, it's pretty stupidly simple, but if I was a kid I'd be playing with that thing day in and day out. Talk about something to spark creativity in kids!
But, ahem, so hi. Yeah, I'm still very busy as the school year winds up. Have a Situation Analysis to hand in next week for my online Marketing class. It's not hard, it's just lengthy and demanding source-wise. Like, what's going on in the graphic/web design industry and just what am I getting myself into in terms of statistics and all that. Very enlightening if I do say so myself.
Then there's other projects coming up. One is throughout the semester and a group thing, which I'm never really into (misunderstandings! work separation!) but it promises to be interesting. Yesterday my group had a very lengthy discussion after class about what exactly what we wanted to make. Two were disagreeing with the other two on a lot of planes so I got home late. We did come up with something that'll please everyone and use everyone's skillsets though, so that's A+. I'll probably be doing the website, leaflets and since it's partly an activist piece, yes, talking to people on the street. Eck.
Last night I finished the first Monère book by Sunny, called Mona Lisa Awakening. Fans of Laurell K. Hamilton will like it, not that I'm a fan. At all. But there's similar themes: paranormal, bigamy, she's something new and awesome. So the deal is, she's a Queen of the Monère, people who departed from the moon when it dried out eons ago. They're stronger, faster, etc., and some can shift shapes, and the vampire and werewolf tales are based on them... though they don't drink blood for necessity since it's an intimacy between mates. The world is well built, nothing's very shaky, though the writing can get stale sometimes. But it's hot. Mona Lisa, a Half-Blood Monère who never knew what she was and is even more surprised when she learns is a Queen, first meets and falls in love with Gryphon, a warrior who's been poisoned and cast away by another Monère Queen (who turns out to be Mona Lisa's mother), and she sets out to heal him because the poison is slowly killing him (until the next full moon). La dee da, there's no cure, and some people want her dead because Half-Bloods are hunted in the secret Monère world, and somehow she comes to be in her mother's court and she tells this other dude called Amber to rape Mona Lisa (yeah, nice mommy isn't she). Only, he won't, and la dee da he ends up being in Mona Lisa's meagre new court and at some point when Gryphon's taken away by this other Queen bitch and Amber gets sunburnt really badly (they're night people so they don't tolerate the sun) she has sex with him (her healing powers multiply tenfold when she orgasms, ahem) to heal him. Somehow, la dee da, Gryphon and Amber both get some of Mona Lisa's powers, and vice versa. And I just told this story in a really crude and shitty manner but it's very nice and makes sense when you read it, I swear. So I just might mooch or buy the next book.
I have a $50 Chapters/Indigo gift card that my mum won at a golf tournament, btw. Yaaaay, although Chapters/Indigo is slightly more expensive than Amazon so less books. Boo.
I was going to say something else book-wise but it would be too telling regarding my
gossipink fic. Basically, I got inspiration from this other series of books that is totally kickass and I'm currently reading a book in it where these characters called Izzy, Jenk, Lopez and Gillman are a total hoot and I've been grinning stupidly in the bus whenever they talk. People must think I'm nuts, smiling and snorting laughter at a book, but hey boys will be boys and these guys are nuts and I loff them so fucking much it hurts to smile. Oh, and regarding this series and another similar one, I got the green light from my sister and she wants to read them :) The only books I've gotten her to read are Harry Potter, Dan Brown, Raymond Khoury and more recently Cecelia Ahern. Wonder what she'll think of romantic suspense!
Watched Gossip Girl 3x03 and Glee 1x03 (what is it with 3's today?). GG is back online imo. Hello Chuck/Blair, you were delightful through and through. And Georgina is on the prowl... for a good reason this time, though I gotta say I was on her team as well after the Poppy/money debacle. Woman scorned and all that. This time she's scorned by Dan but at least payback will get Scott's real story out.
As for Glee... Acafellas was very nice. I hate that fake-preggers chick btw. Hate her voice, hate her baby-will-save-our-marriage ploy. Materialist, too. God. I'm really in love with that obsessive-compulsive chick Emma :) And aww I like Finn and Puck. Finn in his clueless Nate-ness and Puck in his BAMF-ness. Like the mohawk, gotta admit ;) And I love love love the singing *is such a musicals geek*
That's that from me, guys. I wake up early tomorrow so gotta sleep it up!
