five things meme

Have enjoyed the sun. In the pool, even. Woo.

So here's that five things meme corleones slapped on me without my knowing (I didn't ask!).

Uno. Ed Westwick

We know I fucking worship that guy, right? He was freaking adorable in those first few interviews in 2007, and he's very eloquent, to boot. Throw in the accent and I'm all a-titter (for the new ones here, I find accents fuckable okay). Yes, he's not that "distinguished" of late; as ggkoolaid would call it, it's probably the Lady Dreadlocks effect but meh, I just mildly dislike the girl personally (using him, using him, using him - wtf "I ate his (hamburger) and it was heaven", YOU DON'T JUST SWITCH). I hate that he smokes, I find the nose fixation freaking adorable, and love love love how shy he gets 'round a certain someone ;) Also, I get his humour. Dry wit has been in my family for years.

Yes I write Ed/Leighton RPF. Find someone who cares that it's wrong. He is the Sexwick and she is the HBIC. They're a power couple, both offscreen and not. Bow down bitches!

Dos. Ron/Hermione

Not the first HP couple I shipped, believe it or not. I'm sure everyone knows about The Paradigm of Uncertainty trilogy, right? Along with Cassie Claire's very plagiarising Draco Trilogy (now offline though I have a copy. PM me if you want? *shrug*) I fell into HP fandom with these. I wasn't hardcore Harry/Hermione but I still don't hate on the pairing - it's just the crazy Harmoanians who shake their dubious "proof" in the form of symbolism and flying hypogriffs of love that had me backing the hell out of the way and falling into the awesomeness of Ron/Hermione banter love. And I love banter/snark. It's possibly my favourite type of dialogue to write because I laugh right along as I write :D

My enthusiasm for HP has kind of dwindled of late - actually, since a little after the series was completed. It's probably the lack of material, or maybe that it felt so final with the epilogue. Either way, I don't know, but I suppose movie!HBP will revive some of that flame. Hopefully. I feel so bad for not writing the epilogue to The Guardian Brotherhood yet. It's not even about the readers, it's about my own frustration at not finishing something I started, grr.

But yeah, so I love R/Hr because of the unresolved sexual tension they had for such a long time, and the blushes, and the banter, and the frustration in general (Yule Ball anyone?), and the humour (Can I have a look at Uranus, Lavender? -- who wants to bet he never did get a look at it, even when they were dating. OR MAYBE IT SCARED HIM muhaha) Okay I'll shut up. Just know: I love R/Hr because it's effortless and yet not :)

Tres. Smut

Soooo... smut eh? Right, let's get to business. I've been reading smut since I was fourteen. My mum even had a book on positions (not the Kama Sutra, something by a sex therapist) from the 70's, and that's basically how I had my first look at sex of the graphic kind. Then there was that novel/autobiography about a slut and all her sexual endeavours/partners/etc (she even knew someone who did bestiality with his dog, ew). It was weird. And then... then I got into online porn. I mean, I've never paid a dime but hey you get some hot stuff even on the front pages sometimes. Especially in the late 90's when a lot wasn't censored. And then Bleu Nuit, a free soft porn tv program here in Quebec that airs from 11pm onwards on the weekends. I remember staying up sometimes, studying how stuff is done and, um, not. So... at sixteen when I first started writing smut (my first smutfic was The Snitch, if you're interested) I was ridiculously mature in that area of sexuality. And yet, I know I have much still to learn because, yep, I'm still a virgin at 22. And holy shit I'm old. Sorry, I realise I'm not 21 anymore every so often haha.

The way I write smut is... I see it as a healthy mix of porn/sex (the physical act) and sensual feelings/pleasure. I focus especially on the latter since, well, you'll rarely see me write two characters together who hate/dislike each other (Red Ice Moon and Smoking Up Bloody Ashes were two exceptions). So for me it's about the "proof of love" as purple prose romance writers term it (usually like so: "and the proof of his love entered her mound of Venus" *sniiiiiicker*). But yeah, I take smut very seriously. It's about the coming of two bodies together in an expression of... blah I'll spare you the rosy stuff. But ya know. It's not just about the sex ;)

Cuatro. Rupert Grint

Hello hot stuff :) Okay, I've loved him to bits and pieces since the first. He's cute, okay, and funny, and so uncomfortable with a certain someone to boot. And I LOVE this interview, approx. 9:00 on is just Dan snickering inside haha! They're so adorable.

Cinco. Alex/Izzie

Well... they're the whole reason I kind of liked Grey's Anatomy for a bit. Alex was a snarking asshole and pissing Izzie off and she would have none of it. You guys see a pattern here? Of snark and bitchiness and hidden feelings? 'Cause I sure as hell see it. Okay, and they're sizzling together. Now, I don't watch GA anymore since the fuckery of Denny's a ghost or whatever the hell he was, but I still support Alex/Izzie wholeheartedly and I hope Izzie didn't die (got the scoop from my sister) because there needs to be more Alex/Izzie goodness to keep this show upbeat and cute.

Uh, I'll give you five things to blog about if you ask, mkay? And now, to food.
