POEM: Gilded Ruins

May 18, 2009 12:25

Author's note: Read this in the context of episode 2x13 :) I honestly can't be bothered to rhyme most of the time, but hey, I'm writing!

(btw, I wrote this on twitter but um, the CTV website where I usually watch GG hasn't uploaded 2x25 yet so... no crazy batshit flailing from me yet? I did see the most important parts last night though so let there be squeeing anyway ;) I'm actually about to type something else I wrote last night. Something... a tad happier :)
Where’s the heart that I found in your gilded ruins?

GILDED RUINS

In the morning you run away

Take these reins and tear me down

This well-travelled road

Because you’re shameless

And it seems change is your foe.

.

You run away and then seize a half-lit day

At night you bleed and shackle others

To heal this ill soul of yours

Where’s the heart that I found in your gilded ruins?

.

Deceit… won’t work

Trust won’t take but a look and some words

But you crushed mine to dust

Into ruins.
