All of today was spent visiting my grandparents and developing a major migraine. Awesome. I am squinty.
Re: The Sanctuary.
Almost done really. I have like 5 pages left but I couldn't bear to finish it last night because O.M.G. Okay. Dude from UNESCO is actually the heroine's father who never aged because the elixir of life works, but only on men so far which explains why it wasn't released worldwide. Hero is actually a rogue CIA agent who fell victim to the government basically always allowing him every horrible thing he'd done in the past "in the name of the country" and so he thought he should do it for himself for once. I'm not condoning his actions or his beliefs, but I understand, considering his line of work where you're always your own man with minimal restrictions as long as you get the job done. But anyway. He does redeem himself in the end, I think. He dies, saving the heroine, and his last thoughts are absolutely beautiful. I mean, there's no real romance in this book - no kissy kissy or mad thoughts of omg he's hot/she's hot or whatever. They kind of silently acknowledge they would be attracted to the other in any other circumstance, but otherwise there's no lusty eye-sexing or anything like that. Quite safe for the males on the flist ;)
I wish the hero could be ressucitated somehow though :( Oh shoot me, yes I'm a romantic.
