winter matters, politics, dance and more
Holy gosh, people. It's snowing a blast. Not icky, heavy, slushy, hell-to-shovel snow, but real light snow! Lots of it! *twirls!* Although the city idiots haven't cleared the streets yet so it's hell to drive and I saw two trucks swerve by as I was shoveling half an hour ago. Scary experience, that was. For a while I was afraid they'd crash into little ol' me. Granted, they were driving like maniacs, but still. Grr. Why do they always wait eons before plowing the streets? *grumblegrumble*
I'm still icky sick btw. Have to have kleenexes at the ready wherever I go because I'm such a snot machine. Will spare you the details but I had a very disgusting episode with a kleenex this morning. Like, huge. Ew. I'm so glad the ick hasn't moved south to my throat. I do have a huskier voice as can be heard in that recording, but otherwise I haven't coughed much if at all. Small fortunes I guess.
In politica land, Charest is reelected. Same old, same old. At least the people didn't elect the haughty bitch. I mean, seriously. Her campaign poster (can't find a pic) makes her look like a dictator. Blah.
I taped the So You Think You Can Dance finale Sunday to watch it last night and... I love being right. From the beginning I've been rooting for Nico and it so paid off. I watched the ballroom parts with my parents and they were properly impressed at the level of professionalism all the competitors displayed. Their favourite style has always been the Paso Doble, which is so hard to get into that not very many dancers like it but my parents are special hehe, and they loved Nico and Natalli's Paso. As well as Nico and Allie's Quick Step (also known as the kiss of death; most dancers who've had to dance it on any SYTYCD show have been promptly kicked off because it's so... quick! And confusing). But all this to say: félicitations Nico, tu as bien mérité ton titre! :D
I just can't get back into No Rest for the Wicked by Kresley Cole. I seriously tried. As I mentioned before, I'm not much for a multitude of lore creatures in my reads. One or two is more than enough. So I guess I'll just have to sell or trade this one. Paperback Swap looks very good.
Also looks very good: The Covenant. I just can't get enough and I've been sludging through ff.net for quality fics but they're all about either Mary Sues or slash, the latter of which isn't bad in itself but isn't my thing *sigh* Does this mean I have to think up another plot? Because I'm booked, man.
