Okay, America, you're really starting to piss me off. At least the loud ones here. Okay, so Barack Obama wasn't wearing a flag pin? Good for him! So much bullshit has been done in the name of patriotism that I don't blame him for not wearing it. IT IS A FUCKING LAPEL PIN, PEOPLE. SERIOUSLY. And what happened to supporting the troops? In the news today, Minnesota National Guardsmen won't get education benefits because their deployment (damn near two years) was intentionally made one day short of the 730 day requirement. That is just low. And of course, we have Rush Limbaugh. I won't get into what he said and if he meant the way it sounded, but his listeners have reached a new low. VoteVets.org reported today that Limbaugh listeners have sent messages to their organization telling them that they are "a waste of existence", that they are "fake", and that they should shoot themselves. Support the troops, huh? At least until they disagree with you. So right here, right now I'm issuing a challenge to President Bush and those who support him: shut your pieholes until such time as your actions match the rhetoric you've been spouting.
