Cyndi Lauper is f-ing awesome. No, I'm not kidding. If you haven't heard her "Hat Full of Stars", or "Unconditional Love", you just don't know. Even if you think you do. Those two songs are thoughtful, earnest, well put together, and moving. The first is somewhat sad, but more in a nostalgic way than in a bitter way. The second is a flat out love song, as you might expect from the title, but... well, anybody who knows me knows that I'm hard to please when it comes to love songs. And this one is simply beautiful. While you're listening, I also recommend "Sally's Pigeons" (may make you cry though), and "Feels Like Christmas", oh and "Love Potion no. 9" if you want something less serious. "Can't Blame Me" is pretty nice too, one of her older ones. I also suspect that her "Sisters of Avalon" might appeal to a few of the folks on my flist, though I could be offbase, I'm never sure about that kind of thing. Lastly, "Like a Cat"... OK, musically this one is alright, though not spectacular, but the lyrics...I may need to write a separate post about them. I'm still mulling them over.
Oh, and I fucking rule when it comes to math. Sometimes I forget, but today I kicked math's ass and made it say my name.
