Nightwish

I'm sad. I also realize that I'm slow when it comes to the grapevine of news.
So, my favorite band- Nightwish (tied with savage garden), disbanded (and by disbanded I mean got a different lead singer) back in '05. And I now found out they kicked her out. I liked her. But that's not the bad part. Apparantly there was an open letter to her stating why the guys were kicking her out (good reasons mind you). And the reply? Such a cop out and avoiding the situation! I kind of lost respect for her now. In the reply she never mentioned anything about the issues brought up by her former band-mates and from what her husband said it seemed like she really was becoming a diva. I hate it when I learn too much about a band. I liked just listing to the music- not knowing the faces. But curiosity screwed me over (again). And in combination with that- I got my hands on their new album (nightwish) and the new lead female vocalist? Well... she takes some getting use to. After the old stunning operatic type of style it's shocking to hear a newer form of singing style combined with the instrumentals and gorgeous male lead. But I'm getting use to it. Although some times it's painful to listen to. Oh well. But I will forever be a Nightwish fan! Just, after '05 mainly for the male lead (have I mentioned that I would have his kids for his voice alone? Not to mention that he operantly wrote the lyrics too. Dead boy's poem was a work of genius I tell you. I love that song.)

(EDIT:)I know why I don't like the new female vocalist as much! She's too much like Within Temptation! I have a love hate relationship with that band- they have some really good songs, then sometimes it just gives me a headache.

<*/fan girl moment*>

On another note: I'm feeling in a literary mood. Why must Sherlock Homes' binding be so pretty? *is a literature snob- binding is a big factor for books* but I resisted so no sherlock for me. Though I did get Pride and prejudice as well as Good Omens (after my sister has nagged me enough that I should read it)

So, if anyone has some good classics to recommend-- please? It doesn't even have to be a classic, just a good book.
