yesterday was the first day i wasn't sore since I've been here-- thats 3 weeks exactly for my body to adjust to the lack of driving I'm doing in London. Today is day two, so I'm excited. I have to get to the tube in 10ish minutes to get to class on time-- for the last two weeks I've managed to NOT be on time or early to any of my classes.

So classes:
Art & Society: We look at art in our society. That's pretty much it. We have to write some essays but we get one hour of lecture and then the professors take us on an adventure through London to find some painting, building, or sculpture to look at, learn about, interpret and analyze. It's quite nice and the head professor does all the talking which can get boring but he's pretty nice for the most part.

Devising London: I thought this was a class where we look at theatre performances and I was wrong, very wrong. That was London Theatre and Permance (ha.) This class has the student do improv all day and we put pieces of it all together at the end of the semester and create a free performance for friends to see. It's sort of stressful since I get so nervous and the teacher is a little bizarre and sort of bitchy at times. We do yoga as a warm up and she isn't at all kind about it. Last week we did the "embryo" and pretty much rolled up into the fetal position and rolled around on the floor 9 times and thus, we were reborn. Yes, bizarre class. The cool thing is that the professor has us go to places we normally wouldn't know about or visit in London and reflect on what we see.

Renaissance: I'll explain this class later. I have quite a bit to say and have to leave soon.

Romantic Writings: No, it isn't romantic and no it isn't cute. It's all from the Romantic period so goth revival (no, not the goth you're thinking of). It's a great class-- I'll talk more about that later.

Love!

Miriel
