The case against marcalbabe
On October 31st, deancastielmod reported an incident of plagiarism posted to their comm deancastiel. It was alleged that marcalbabe had plagiarised a Buffy the Vampire Slayer story by tangofic.

It is a very clear case of copy and paste with names replaced, as can be seen by comparing the two. The story was also crossposted to several other communities, as confirmed in the comments to the original report. The communities have all taken individual action.
While marcalbabe initially denied it (source: screencap), she later owned up to the charge, as seen in a PM to tangofic screencapped here.
When contacted by me, she gave the following reply:
It's true and it was a bad mistake on my part. I have apologized over at several boards, including the writer. I'm trying very hard to settle this and to hopefully have people forgive me (including the writer) I feel horrible and ashamed. I never meant to hurt or upset anyone. I don't know what else I can do...
The story in question has been removed from her LJ and her fanfiction.net account, if it was ever posted to the latter. (It wasn't there when I first looked, so I don't know if it was never posted there or was posted and removed. Her bio indicates she crossposts, though.)
I looked at her other stories, but could not find evidence of plagiarism from other authors in those cases. She does appear to reuse her own material.
Given the evidence and her own admission, marcalbabe will be added to the list of known plagiarists.
