The case against 'Illusional Cupcake'
On September 29, 2009, shelliesfics reported that two of her stories had been plagiarized. The original report can be found here. When I contacted Illusional Cupcake, I received this reply:
Dear ashes and wings,
I'm sorry I couldn't reply sooner, as I have been on vacation and didn't have a computer.
First off, I was surprised to hear this news, but I now understand why these specified stories have been labled as plagerized. Both were ideas or requests I got from a student who goes to my school who is an avid fan of the fandoms of both stories and provided a few story ideas and handwritten rough drafts for me when I had writer's block. I now see that she took these ideas from these stories, and most likely wrote them word for word by hand. Sadly, this has happened to me before, and I respectfully and sincerely apologize to Shelliefic for this occurance, and I thank them for not lashing out. I will give this girl a talking to when I return to school on monday, rest assured.
As for the other grievance, this was another request. I am truly sorry for that one too.

It was also discovered that at least one line was directly taken from Jingles Keppich's story Shadow Realms. During the investigation, it appears that 'Illusional Cupcake' once wrote under the penname 'ThiefRikku88.' Under normal circumstances, we do not keep track of author's pseudonyms, but since one of the works in question clearly stated the previous penname, I am listing it as a known alias on our records.
Subsequently, Illusional Cupcake did remove all twenty one stories posted under her fanfiction.net account. However, I would like to note that only three were in question and two of those had already been removed by the time the original report went public. It was the author's choice to remove all her work. I will be adding Illusional Cupcake/ThiefRikku88 to the list of known plagiarists.
