Hello, this is Little Muse and Majestrix; we are moderators at the Tokio Hotel Fiction site. This community was recommended to us when we found on another livejournal community fanfictions which were written by us under another name that we did not authorize. All that was changed were names because they were converted to a different fandom. Other ( Read more... )

Ironically, in her profile at fanfiction.net she's posted a survey about herself that includes this line:

In the past month have you Stolen Anything: I don't steal!

Unless u count fanfiction, which isn't stealing because their steeling from the other person who made it orgi ... origin ... first!

Actually that logic isn't all that far off. It's the first thing you learn in any literature text -- all literature has, by some means, a predecessor. No one can really come up with an original because we take stories and examples from what we hear and see in life. This however isn't called plagiarism because it's not verbatim.

Everyone takes ideas here and there; an author can't work without them. But words cannot express how much effort has been put into one of the stories we wrote that she stole (and which we wouldn't mind publishing after changing the names), and I assure you, it is not the same thing. At all.

Wasn't saying it's justifying her actions, merely explaining a thought on the subject. Ideas are one thing. Words are another.
