The Case Against The-Dirty-Martini
On March 17th, roguemudblood reported that The-Dirty-Martini, a.k.a. dmmuzicfan had plagiarised brightcolors_shinyobjects' original erotica, Gathering Rain, on Fanfiction.net. That report is here.
Screencaps were provided that showed the similarities between the two stories, despite The-Dirty-Martini's adaptation for the CSI fandom. I contacted dmmuzicfan through LJ to give them a chance to explain themselves. Their reply was "It's already been deleted."
With no further explanation or apology, and this implied admission of guilt, The-Dirty-Martini a.k.a. dmmuzicfan is being added to the list of known plagiarists.
NOTE: This story was on Fanfiction.net for nearly six years before it was discovered and the plagiarist was compelled to remove it. It's a reminder that it's never too late to uncover a case of plagiarism. Thanks to roguemudblood and everyone who is being so vigilant!
