The case against 'LordSesshoMarusGirl'
On July 15th inuhanyounikkie presented a report involving the InuYasha fandom. The case stated that the story, Jewels are Forever, written by queenofswords had been plagiarized by LordSesshoMarusGirl on fanfiction.net. The original report can be found here.
The screen-caps indicated that they were word-for-word copies. After I contacted LordSesshoMarusGirl, I received this reply a few days later:
"I have recieved your message concerning the story 'Jewels are Forever'. I
would immediatelly like to apologize for any misgivings concerning the
copyrights to this piece. I had allowed a friend who does not have easy access
to a computer to use my account since I rarely use it. I was unaware that this
person had been posting a plagarized story through this account until I
recieved an alert concerning this and have since deleted the plagarized
verison of the story and have completely cut off any ties this person has to
this account any longer. Again I am terrribly sorry that this was allowed to
happen and I hope that my actions to correct as well as prevent this from
happening again has sufficed."
As of now, there has been no further activity on the account. The story in question was pulled shortly after I contacted her. With the evidence provided, LordSesshoMarusGirl will be added to the list of known plagiarists.
