It had been almost a week since Fox's team investigated the Sigrun's Brig. They'd turned up some pretty unsettling information, confirmation that the creatures living on the Brig were in fact the inmates that had chosen to stay behind there, mutated into hideous, violent monsters by some sort of gigantic plant aboard the ship. The fact that he'd been blowing away "innocent people" during his excursions didn't sit well with the young mercenary at all, and he wasn't sure if this applied to all of the monsters or just the ones in the Brig. Upon returning to the Thor, he hadn't reported his teams findings to the Captains (he wasn't sure if the rest of his team kept silent, but they seemed sensible enough). From a scientific point of view, something like this would have been fascinating. The last thing the Thor needed was some jumped up scientist bringing back spores from this plant and infecting their ship as well.
Just because Fox hadn't reported it didn't mean someone else wasn't likely to come along and discover it for themselves. He'd made up his mind to return to the Sigrun to find that plant and destroy it if at all possible. After restocking his gear and getting a hold of a breathing apparatus, he left the Thor to do just that.
Unfortunately, the Sigrun had locked down almost as soon as he'd arrived. What fantastic timing. Oh, and the self destruct sequence had been initiated? Really? Really?
Well, since it was likely that the self destruct sequence would take care of that plant if he didn't manage to get to it, it was time for some new mission objectives: Locate other Thor citizens and make sure they didn't get mauled by space monsters, and finding a way off this metal death trap before it blows.
Just another day in the life, right?
