[Didn't take him long after the call to get down to the medical ward, or to get clearance for surgery. Since Naomi talked to the doctors, he wasn't met with much resistance by the Vogons for it. Soon he was in familiar medical scrubs, cleaning himself up and getting ready to go into the Operating Room ( ... )

[The far door opened and heels clicked against the tiled ground. Well, this was something she thought would never come up again. She too bore scrubs quite similar to the ones she had wore at St. Francis. It was how she worked and if anyone had something to say, she could give a damn. The black bruise on her chest was prominent, but small; slowly expanding day by day.]

[The OR was set up. Michael was already inside, stripped down and on the table, covered and hooked up to each necessary machine. Scalpels, forceps, tray, syringe, drain... yes, it seemed like everything was there. Her eyes turned towards the surgeon at the sink]

Dr. Sartre...

[CR-S01 was snapped out of his reverie as he heard her heels clicking against the ground, and he moved to shut the water off. He was drying his hands on a towel when she addressed him. He turned to her.]

Dr. Kimishima.

The colony is on his heart... but I have a bad feeling about this.

[He had been sick for so long... With all the technology, they were still going in blind.]

...Has there been a scan of his heart to tell if it's mutated?

[He remembers the operation on Naomi; the operation he perfromed himself. If it's similar...]

It was too blurry... Something obstructed the image.

[She walks over to the sink, washing her hands.]

On that note, there's something I need to ask.

Hmm.

[Blurry images was never a good sign. That usually meant diving in blind.]

Yes?

[She turns the sink off, drying her hands]

I would like to perform the operation. Diving in like this could be deadly, but... I should be able to keep it from getting out of hand.

Will you assist me?

[He looks at her for a moment, blinking. Of course, she'd feel responsible for all of this...well, it wasn't exactly her fault that the virus in her relapsed.]

[At her request, he nods solemnly.]

Of course I will. This is my burden as well.

[Hm... she didn't expect that, but she was glad all the same. With a curt nod, she turns, slipping her gloves on]

Thank you.

[She enters the OR, looking at their patient. Her eyes were steely, no emotion. No time for those to get in the way...]

[He nods to her, slipping his own rubber gloves and face mask on. He follows her into the OR. While her eyes are steely, his are hardened by focus.]

[She nods to CR and then the other aliens assisting on the monitors]

Alright... We're starting the operation. Applying disinfectant at the point of incision...

[The aliens nod and she proceeds. Disinfect, scalpel, incising... blood. Abnormal amount... blood blocking the image, that would make sense.]

Using the drain to remove the excess blood.

[He pulls the drain over, using it to remove all of the excess blood. No wonder the image was blurry...]

[The blood clears, but its starting to come in again. She has to continue through the breastbone]

Exposing the heart... [Damn thing was just waiting to burst... had to be the size of a small walnut]

We'll remove the colony quickly and handle the source of the bleeding. What are the vital readings?

Falling under 60.

Dr. Sartre, finish draining and pass me the syringe. I need the stabilizers and vasoconstrictor.

Right.

[There's a lot of blood, but he manages to drain enough away for the time being to recieve the syringe and the required vials containing the stabilizers and vasoconstrictors. He hands both to Naomi, before he has to drain away more blood.]

[Hm... That should be enough. Stabilizers...]

Vitals now?

67, doctor.

[Alright, keep going. Vasoconstrictor... scalpel... forceps... yes, just what she needed; the colony sticking to the heart. Blood is coming back... Carefully...]

Get the tray ready...
