[Polly looks up from her koala, blinking as she recognizes Riku. Instantly she's blushing a decidedly bright red at the memory of their last conversation, but any embarrassment is quickly supplanted by worry, at the sight of the much brighter blood on his face.]

Riku! What happened?

Pol--?!

[he barely gets the name out before he gets smacked in the back of the head by the professor with a rolled-up set of papers, and before the waves of thoughts can come in, he's already mentally cursing the instructor]

[sitting down at the too-cushy seat across from the desk, his attention turns again when the door closes]

["You didn't. Answer. My question. Did you do anything else...?!"]

[...well... she is pretty...]

[Polly took a breath to reply, but promptly let out a squeak, as the thoughts came through. She hadn't thought it was possible for the blushing to get worse.]

[She had thought wrong.]

H-hi...

[She settled down behind her desk, trying not to think of the party. Trying very very hard shehasajobtodo.]

Are you alright...? Would you like a koala?

[While walking about, Kai felt defeated. How could anybody not tell her about what's going on with the cheerleading squad? Do they just not exist? Tired of waiting on others to come to her, she decided she will come to them!
She starts opening every door possible to see if someone is available, and is starting to feel pretty annoyed, until she opens one that has a rather interesting smell attached to it...

She doesn't know why, but once seeing the two koalas stare at her, she feels compelled to sit down and pet them.]

[Polly blinks as a girl walks in and, without any introduction at all, starts petting the koalas. Seeing how discouraged the girl looks, however, she smiles at her. Maybe she's just shy.]

Hello. What's your name?

[All of a sudden, Kai is pulled out of her trance and hears a soft voice asking a question. She immediately "wakes up" and looks straight at her. She starts to blush right away and looks down at the ground.]

K-kai...sorry about that. I dunno why but I felt so disoriented. I think I better stay still...it's been a long day and I haven't eaten lunch yet.

[Polly's smile brightens a little.]

It's alright, you can stay here a while. And I can give you something to eat, if you want...

[No amount of soothing koalas can put a stop to the angry shouting in the hallway outside your office, Pols. But you'll recognize that voice, and yeah, that mind as well. It's one of the loud ones, and you have been all through the best and the worst of it, so what can a little more hurt, right?]

I DIDN'T START ANYTHING IT WAS HER! SHE'S BEING-

[Rustling and squeaking of trainers as he almost slips out of the slimy grasp of the administrator-who tosses the door open with a very stern blobby face and deposits a squirming, thrashing boy into the nearest chair.]

Your 2:00 appointment with Hanamoron Yosuke and Renge Houshakouji, Ms. Zyanya.

[The squirming boy looks up and scowls.]

Seriously? Her? You have to be kidding me! Last time it was S-[swallow, embarrassing voice break]-Souji and this time it's the psychic girl? That's cheating!

[The magic of koalas has few bounds, a long awaited shouting match between two formidable and angry teenagers who had been lumped together for a rather horrifying class project definitely being one of them.]

I WAS BEING A WHAT?

[While Renge can certainly match Yosuke in decibel, she's got the pride not to require physical 'assistance' into the office, and stalked in behind Mister Blobby Face and Yosuke. There's one of those mechanical babies under her arm, and due to a great deal of tape and string, a plastic bottle seemed firmly secured in it's mouth, keeping the thing from screaming.]

[That's prime fake parenting right there, eh?]

[She manages a bit of a strained smile after shooting the - whiny, bitchy, loud mouthed, bratty - boy a withering look (because this was all your fault, Yosuke!) - and, ignoring the extension of his little tantrum, dips her head respectfully to their counselor.]

[Oh... Oh, hell...]

[The poor marsupials cling to her in the face of all the yelling. Polly blinks, her voice coming out a slightly mildly decidedly unprofessional squeak.]

Appointment?

[Another blink, and then she gathers herself enough to return Renge's nod, focusing on this civilized gesture amidst the chaos in much the same way a drowning person fixes on a flotation device.]

Um... Please have a seat...?

[Yosuke is not thrilled to be here, but he's sitting. And frowning unamusedly at the faint trail of slime left on his shirt by that guy that, uh...helped...him inside. He rolls his eyes up at Polly and sighs.]

This is just a misunderstanding, Polly-san. I don't think there's anything we need to talk about, right?

[He tries to brush it off and it sticks to his hand. He makes a noise of disgust and wipes his hand off on his jacket, which basically just makes things worse.]

Renge-chan is kind of a loudmouth, that's all. She made a disturbance in class, but we're not going to do it again. Right, Renge?

It wasn't his fault they hadn't gotten a competent advanced chemistry teacher this time. So what if he'd poked holes into the teacher's lecture every thirty seconds? It was either that or just sleep in the class. Poking holes was considerably more entertaining. But apparently it pointed toward some sort of 'issue with authority figures' and they'd shipped him off to the school shrink.

Someone was already in there with the good psychologist when he arrived, so he just flopped down in a questionable comfortable chair outside the door and commenced to take the nap he should have taken in class.

Just as Ed was settling into a proper doze, the psychologist's office door opens, emitting a tearful young... something. The little yellow-skinned alien, however, was accompanied be a more familiar and decidedly girl-shaped person, who handed it a cookie.

"Don't worry, everything will be okay... You just remember what I said, alright? I promise, it'll help...."

Looking over, her eyes lit up with recognition.

"Ed! Are you my next appointment?"

Ed blinked up at her once he stopped staring after the yellow alien.

"You're the shrink?"

The yellow alien moves off back to class, munching the cookie, and Polly holds out her hand, inviting Ed into the office.

"Shrink..? I guess so... This month, anyway. Come on in, I've got koalas! They actually do seem to help a little!"

[...there's not really an explanation as to why Nepeta is currently romping through the school-she's not a student, and she'd never really been interested in being one-but for whatever reason, she's happily making her way through the halls. every now and then, she peeks into a classroom by slowly coming up on the window on its door, but she's always either driven away, or she leaves of her own accord since nothing interesting is happening.

when she peeks into this particular room, though, she notices two things: one, it's not another normal, boring classroom; and two, its lone occupant is someone familiar to her! ...well, they'd only met in a dream (that had ended less than favorably, she recalls), but the troll still recognizes her!]

[Looking up, Polly nearly jumps to see a pair of cat-like eyes peering at her. Then, the Eternal's face lights up with recognition, and she hops up from her desk to pull open the door through which Nepeta peeks.]

Nepeta, hi! Did you need someone to talk to? I've got koalas!

[and with that, Nepeta stands up straight and hugs the girl. she doesn't exactly understand the concept of personal space... plus, when faced with a friend, it's just her default reaction!]

Heehee, not really, but I did not know you would be here! It is good to finally meet you in purrson!

[Polly makes a surprised but happy sound at suddenly being hugged, hugging back, just as enthusiastically.]
