(no subject)
Attempted to make Tablet today, for the second time. First time, it didn't set and turned into burnt sugary gloop, this time althought it is still a bit soft... nearly there. Will see if chilling it in the fridge turns it into the sugary, crystally beutiful treat my Nana used to make me. I had a bit earlier and am still bouncing on the sugar high so something was correct at least.
First day at new job tomorrow. This is a "settling in day" in preperation for starting properly next week. I am really nervous as, unlike during the trial, I am the sole secretary. When I left last week the secretary was already unindated with a backlog to catch up on - I have a suspicion I am going to go in tomorrow and it is like a bomb has hit it. But I like a challenge, and this way I can take it from chaos and make it mine. Still nervous though.
Looking forwards to it desperately though. Can't believe I have done it. Its going to be a great job, and its going to be a very interesting one, if the trial days have anything to go by. I am so thrilled that it just doesn't seem real. I am sure reality will come crashing down when I realise how hard I am going to have to work for the first couple of months to catch up!
I am actually going to be really sad leaving the hospital. I had only just really started to settle in, get to know everyone, the consultants, the nurses. I really would have been quite happy at that job for a while, but it had a limited life-span of what I could achieve there anyway. This job could lead up and up, and even to some pretty big places in London if I choose. Have to think long term if I want to get the house I want, the pets I want, the clothes, and the new and growing love of classical cars I have (Dammit, why are all my hobbies expensive?)
Very happy at the moment. And it is so nice to come home and know that I don't have to immediately start looking at jobs, with the knowledge I was underqualified for 95% of them... it just takes one good opportunity.
