Technically December!

It's... Decem-BRRRRRRRRR! (except it hasn't been that cold these last couple days... what with the rain and whatnot...)

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted again! I guess I've gotten out of the habit again. Oh, that, and I've been perpetually limited for days. Curses! Foiled by school internet! Next term, I'm oh-so-certainly getting cable. Take that stupid university! No more internet money from ME... Hey, wait a second, am I even paying them for the internet? o_O

So, unfortunately, a haze of time now obscures two weekends ago, but I will at least talk a bit about brainbin's visit to Waterloo. I kind of left him sitting in the Tim Horton's where we were supposed to meet for a pretty long time, but I had no sense of just how long a walk it was. Anyway, we finally did meet up, and walked back to campus. I pointed out University Plaza on the way, giving special mention to the HMV that has enjoyed so much business from me these past three months.

On campus, I led brainbin to the Davis Centre, where he used a payphone to contact Jenne about their meeting later, which couldn't be resolved then. I showed him the cafeteria space in the DC which includes Chopsticks, The Jolly Chef and Tim Hortons #2 of 4. Now, the order of events has been lost on me (I'm sure brainbin can inform you of them in a comment :P ) but there was also a quick look in on the Physical Activity Centre as well as the cafeteria in Village 1, where I live (in Village 1, not the cafeteria... well, one could argue I DO live in the cafeteria, but that's another story). I also showed him a couple classrooms for comparison. First there was one from the MC (Math & Computers building), which hold about 100 people. Then, I showed him the behemoth room in Rod Coutt's Hall, which holds 397 and it quite the spectacle. There was also time spent at the Student Life Centre (where brainbin did get his plans with Jenne sorted) and the Tim Hortons therein (#1 of 4 on campus). brainbin says he enjoyed the new "Hot Smoothie" that he tried (I think he tried the caramel flavour). Anyone else want to comment on them? I still haven't tried one. My friend Orson's comment on them was that they were "weird", which was his response to any inquiry about them, so... I don't know what that's supposed to mean, lol.

Eventually, we did head over to the Mongolian Grill which is in University Plaza (adjacent to campus) and waited for Jenne and her friends to show up. Eventually, they did, and after a couple pleasantries I let them go on their merry way to the restaurant. It was interesting having someone from Toronto up here to visit, and I will be (sort of) returning the favour when I come down to Toronto this weekend for my high school's (ASE 2's) fundraiser at Chapters. It's going to be lots of fun seeing everyone, and hopefully there will be lots of people there, including other grads. If I can make it from Waterloo, all you silly UofT people can make it too!!

In more recent matters... hmm, what can I say? There's been a lot of work going on, which is kind of unsurprising, since classes end very soon (Monday, as a matter of fact!). On Sunday (or was it Saturday?) there was more 2 for $12 madness at Blockbuster (I broke down and got 4 for $24 instead). Picked up Million Dollar Baby (written by writer/director of Crash, last year's Best Picture), Assault On Precinct 13 (the new version.... total action flick), After The Sunset (advertised as action, but Tyler (who had seen it) insisted it was a comedy (and a worthwhile one at that)), and finally, the crappy horror movie, Seed of Chucky. I haven't watched MDB yet, since I haven't been quite in the right mood for that kind of movie, but I've watched the rest. They were all pretty good, but none are must-sees, certianly. Seed Of Chucky was played completely for comedy, which is good, because who can take that doll seriously anymore anyway? Lots of injokes in that one. All the movies were completely amusing for their runtime, and I'll probably end up watching each again eventually.

Okay, that's it for now I guess. Hmmm... poetry may come in a bit, we shall see. Or I'll just go to bed. Decisions, decisions, eh?

university, movies, day to day
