Man, did you know that Jo-Ann Fabrics now sells good sock yarn? Well, *I* didn't. It is a bummer because I already ordered some yarn from KnitPicks.com. On the other hand, this lets me test out their service and their yarn WAS pretty, so that's good too. I'm just saying, I was pretty excited because the one at Jo-Ann's was merino wool too. Jo-Ann's, please keep selling good sock stuff. The bad news is that I gave in and bought size 2 Takumi bamboo double-pointed needles that cost $8 or something. Now, I love Takumi bamboo needles and bamboo needles in general but...I can't help being all, "Oh snap, are they gonna break on me at some point?" because they're so skinny. Plus the tips are digging into my fingertips and causing me pain but this is totally to be expected with such needles and it would still happen if they were plastic or aluminum or whatever.
Anyway, I began making a sock to see how good this yarn is. I kind of like it a lot. A LOT. Me and this yarn, we hang. It will suck if later I discover it unravels easily or something, though, but I don't think so. I DON'T THINK SO, YARN. Also, it is not giving me any weird allergic reactions so far. Seeing how the yarn I was working with before kind of did AND it was way scratchier wool, I think the choice is obvious. THE CHOICE IS CLEAR.
My finger still hurts, though.
So we're on season 3 of 24. My babies are still Tony and Michelle with a little bit of Sylar--I mean, Adam thrown in. He seemed kind of girl haterish at first (which might make Zachary Quinto fangirls kind of happy maybe...? No? It was a weird connection my brain made) but I think he was actually just a Kim hater, and I can't fault him for that. Kim is weird because she's not a bad kid, probably, but she just makes me "UGH" at the TV constantly. Sometimes it's not her fault but 90% of the time it is. And her little boyfriend Chase is kind of the same. I kind of dislike them both and wish they would get married and leave forever because they both screw a lot of stuff up.
Okay, okay, I'll be fair. Kim HAS gotten a lot better, at least (she was totally on my black list during seasons 1 and 2). But I'm saying, how did she get the education necessary to get a job at CTU AND get a job at CTU so fast? I think Sylar was onto something when he said she got it cause of her dad. I'm just sayin'. I like SylarAdam. But he has not killed anyone yet, and that includes Kim and Chapelle.
Tony, man. When they shot him in the neck I was all "OMG NOOOO NOOO WHY IS IT ALWAYS MY FAVORITES" and freaked out. It's my fault, really. My cousin, who was the one who recommended the show to me in the first place, gave me one piece of advice: "Don't fall in love with any character. Don't get attached." And he was RIGHT. Because a whole bunch of my favorites have died or just...gotten a crappy end somehow. I'm seriously worried about Tony and Michelle (even though Tony made it through his surgery just fine).
Man, David Palmer. Everyone's trying to protect you. And that 50s or whatever "Sherry" song is still stuck in my head whenever one of your people around you go on about how they're trying to protect you and your presidency. Which is all the time. Also, I always call you "Allstate."
I think that's it... In conclusion, my loves are Tony and Michelle (I shipped them last season, so I was severely excited that they got married and fully expect one of them to die now because them living happily ever after would just be too good to me and shows are mean) and SylarAdam. Oh, and I like weird Chloe too. My nemeses are Kim Bauer and Chapelle. And Sherry. But she's not around anymore, PHEW. Just watch her come back to ruin everybody's lives. AGAIN. She helped a bit last time but NO, SHERRY. Or NINA. You can stay in your cells and try to outwitch each other.
Speaking of which, I don't even read TWoP anymore and I know their whole ~deal~ is to be snarky and whatnot but I was still a little brokenhearted when they referred to Michelle as B&*%helle. Are we watching the same show...? I've never even seen her do anything remotely witchy, seriously. The only time when she was more tense and perhaps a bit gruffer with people or whatever was when Tony got shot and she had to be in charge of CTU while simultaneously worrying about her husband who was in surgery (fact: I suddenly confused the Spanish word for surgery and the English word and almost spelled it "cirgury." Don't ask me @_@). I am just puzzled over here.
Also, I started playing the "Another Day" chapter on The World Ends With You and it is hilarious. I love the little Power Ranger thing with the colors. That kind of silliness is what makes me fall in love with stuff and I kind of love this game a whole lot. Joshua is still my favorite and I don't know why at ALL. But his position is seriously threatened by my sudden love for Shooter Dan. Makoto is pretty cute too.
OH! I forgot to write this up but I saw the first episode of season 6 of Project Runway, of course! I...I liked it. Some people seemed to be all "*groan* It sucks I hate everything" about it but I was quite okay with it and I thought the Models of the Runway thing was interesting too...so I am satisfied so far. It was incredibly awesome to see Tim Gunn again, especially how he handled the one guy who broke down crying. Of course, most people were all, "Dude, it's the first challenge, you suck" but I felt bad for him. I mean, I can see both sides but...anyway, the point is that Tim Gunn totally dad-talked at him and he is just an amazing person. If I would ever "stan" anyone, Tim Gunn would be high up there on the list.
As for the designers, Shirin seems nice, I liked Christopher's dress best, so I'm happy he won, and I have a crush on Logan, like everyone else. And I think that's it...? It's kind of hard to be attached at the beginning, I think. In my case, a few will stand out and everyone else will kind of blend in together until later episodes. OH WAIT. I like the one guy...the black gentleman who was older than everyone else. I think he had dreadlocks...? Anyway, I like him a lot too. He just seems nice, I don't know.
