EEeEEEeeEEeEEEEeeeeEEEE!

That doesn't sound like Jocko from Freakazoid at all but it made me think of him all the same. I think I want to have a YouTube Freakazoid stuff marathon of some kind soon. WITH POPCORN.

But the REAL reason for the subject line! Okay, so I love Alving and the Chipmunks. Lemme just put it out there. It's true. I'm not ashamed! I was a huuuuge fan of the cartoon (the one with the Chipettes from the 80s) and I remember watching The Chipmunk Adventure as a kid and I LOVE that movie and the songs and it was just my baby. It's funny because what I had was this videotape of it that my aunt recorded for me or something and it was missing the first part, so it started at the part where Alvin and company are about to start singing in Mexico. I really wanted the DVD and I was extremely excited to find it at Best Buy several months ago when I bought my pink camera. You KNOW I bought that thing faster than you can say, "Oh, I have to go back and change the camera cause it's defective" (and I did the same day!). And then I got all caught up in the camera and in other stuff and forgot about it.

Fast-forward to NOW and my current situation of my satellite box still not working, which has led me to just watch movies instead of the TV so I feel like I'm still watching TV, kind of (I have watched all 3 Back to the Future movies, like, 10 times now). I was trying to choose the next one to watch and I found the The Chipmunk Adventure DVD and got all excited again (and felt bad upon realizing it still had the shrink-wrap on it) and then I opened it and--IT COMES WITH THE SOUNDTRACK!? I could have had these songs in my iPod ALL THIS TIME. Oh, the wasted MONTHS! T_T

I hope they're the full versions. *_* My favorites are definitely "The Girls of Rick N' Roll," "Diamond Dolls," "Off To See The World," and "The Chipmunk Adventure Theme." But I like them all. I have fond memories of "Wooly Bully" because I remember it always cracked my dad up to hear it, for some reason.

Also, Eel is a salesperson for The Sims 3 and I seriously want to get it now. Canirunit.com claims my computer sucks and can't do it and totally dissed my CPU speed (even though it also claims I can run Apartment Life perfectly fine, and both games have the same CPU requirements, I think) but I asked people at the LJ TS3 community and most of the replies seem to be that I should still be able to run it, even if it's slightly slow. Ironically, I'm being more told that my video card might be more troublesome than the CPU speed but I don't need ~EXTREME GRAPHICS~ or anything. I'm one of those people who doesn't get the fuss about HD TV and such things (man, my dreams of being a famous person are even MORE dashed now, since people will be able to see my PORES and stuff), so I will be fine even if I can't see every little minute detail. The temptation is STRONG. I wonder if I should wait till there's more custom content out, though...? I know a whole year (I think?) passed between the time I bought The Sims 2 and the time I actually started to really play the game because the default Maxis content was gross to me and I hadn't figured out custom content yet (and then I did and, oh, how the doors of Heaven opened~).

Observation of the Day:
You know how there's movies that you LOVE but you couldn't necessarily watch them over and over and then there's movies that you're okay with but you could watch them a million times? The Back to the Future movies may not be my favorite movies ever (but still in my top 5!) but I've found I can watch them over and over and over and over without a problem, seriously. I can't do this even with my favorites I think that's partly because my top 2 movies, which are The Neverending Story and Return to Oz, are so strongly associated with Christmas in my mind (probably because growing up they always played those two movies during Christmas time the same way they play the Charlie Brown Christmas special every Christmas) that I feel weird watching them any other time.

tv, videogames, movies, family, the sims 2, music
