Hairspray & Harry Potter 7

Well. I got the book. And I read it (most of it. I freely admit I skipped around, read the end, read back and forth and so on. I always read books this way). And I have things to say, but FEAR NOT, PEOPLE. Do not get your pitchforks or cuss me out just yet, for I have prepared a very special lj-cut for you all.

Things I Expected:
1. I totally believed all the theories that Regulus was R.A.B, so that was no surprise.
2. Same with the theories that Snape killed Dumbledore under Dumbledore's own orders and that Dumbledore was pleading with him to kill him.
3. Harry and Ginny ending up together (MAN! >.< But I knew it was going to happen).
4. Ron and Hermione ending up together (YAY!! Sorry, Hoshi. I am laaaaaame).
5. Lupin dying (I figured she'd kill off all the Marauders).
6. Snape dying (I figured he wouldn't be able to live after all that stuff).
7. Neville ending up as a professor at Hogwarts, especially Herbology (she seemed to hint at it all pretty heavily).
8. Harry, Ron, and Hermione living (I never really thought she'd kill them).

Things I Did NOT Expected:
1. Fred dying (WHAT THE CRAP!! I was SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY bummed out about this).
2. Tonks dying (Same here, WAAAAAH!)
3. Colin Creevey dying (SO YOUNG)
4. Lupin and Tonks getting married and having a kid (a pleasant surprise!)
5. Snape being childhood friends and in love with Lily (that was a neat surprise and it made me like Snape x Lily better than James x Lily and then I felt kind of bad).

That's all for now!

And now that THAT's over, I also went to see Hairspray! It was GREAT! I thought it was way better than the original but that's just me. The songs were great and everyone was great. My favorite was, of course, Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad. She was just ADORABLE~! I YEARN to be that cute, though I do not yearn to do things she did, such as snoop in the boys' restroom or pass by flashers everyday. Or hitch a ride to school on a garbage truck. And stuff. Of course, the whole movie I kept going "Heehee. That's John Travolta" and "Oh, John Travolta" and "I hope Christopher Walken can save his marriage with John Travolta" and "IT'S JOHN TRAVOLTA, MAN! He looks just darling in that dress" or just plain old "...John Travolta."

Then the words "John Travolta" started losing their meaning. That still happens to me sometimes, when I hear people say my name a lot.

So go see Hairspray, everyone! It's GREAT!
