So that guy Mike called me on over to lend me his imported Japanese games. Apparently, he was under the mistaken impression that I'd be able to understand them with my meager skills. HAH! The joke is on YOU, Mike! But it was still real generous of him. The games I borrowed were Children of Mana and Xenosaga I & II, both for the Nintendo DS.
I just got them, so I obviously haven't played much, but Children of Mana has captivated my heart. It's just too cute~! I love the font they used and the character sprites and portraits and stuff. I'm torn between choosing to play as the girl or the sprite/kid/lil person. And then I'm torn as to what color to make their clothes. I have to admit, I'm a bit biased towards Children of Mana because it's WAY easier to understand than Xenosaga I & II (so far, anyway). They don't seem to use as much kanji or as much complicated kanji. When I turned on Xenosaga I was like "AUGH I THINK I UNDERSTOOD TWO WORDS!" because...it's supposed to be a deep game, I guess, with complicated terminology and such stuff. It seems to be pretty much the same as the PS2 Xenosaga, though... I didn't get very far yet, but I remembered a lot of it. It was sure a kick to see them as little sprites, though.
But CHILDREN OF MANA. Too cute. I want it! I'll probably definitely get this one.
And I got kind of sick today. I went to the mall and didn't BUY anything. That means I was sick. I just got kind of dizzy and it was REALLY hot, as usual, and I didn't wanna drive and I just wanted to go home, so I didn't buy anything. I'm so ASHAMED. I mean, not even one of those 5 dollar paperbacks I usually buy. UGH! And I'm still torn between getting Dragon Quest VIII, Brain Age, or Tales of Phantasia. Or some other games. TOO MUCH! I want one... I REALLY want to try Brain Age but I'm afraid I'll get bored with it too soon or something. It's ridiculous.
And then I had to do a weird maneuver while driving and it shook me up a little bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But now I am home and showered and going to play more Children of Mana. I think I'll probably end up playing as the girl. I think I'll name her "Lucía" in katakana. So like, "Rushia" or something. If I choose the sprite, I'll name him Nacho, after the kid in Chiquititas and the dude from the Nacho Libre movie. I want to see it because dad actually wants to see it, and that is RARE. Dad NEVER feels like seeing comedy movies at the theater, and certainly not Nickelodeon ones. He usually has to be forced by one of us to watch them on DVD. That MEANS something.
Ok, more Children of Mana. Once again, THANK YOU, MIKE! And remember to let me know when you want them back and stuff!
