Starting Fresh...
After the whole fiasco with Dan's closure, I decided to start fresh. I'm dating this guy named Larry which we met at my friend Amanda's work party at Kon Tiki bar. It was the pharmacist's brother. The moment I saw him walk in the door I was automatically turned on by his smile and his bright blue eyes. We had a drink and started talking ever since then, which was early June 06. Then soon after we started dating. Now, don't get me wrong he's gorgeous. But... I'm the second most shallow girl of the west (1st is Nikki and she'll vouch for that!)so I sometimes cut intelligence short when it comes to good looks. He's not the...how do you say... brightest crayon in the box. I should never sell myself short for looks over brains because usually I go for the nerdy type. You know, the ones that are hotties but are nerds and still have a future and can uphold an intelligent conversation. He turns everything into an argument!! Well, I apologize. My mistake. I sold myself short for a guy that doesn't know about anything EXCEPT cars, guy movies, guns, 80's music and porn. WHICH would be totally cool because I've dated someone with that narrow of interests before but he is soooo entirely closed minded that I can't even have a conversation with him about music or lyrics, his theory on religion, and don't even get me started on politics! He's a raging republican, and he has no reason to be. He's not a 60+ year old man with a pension, or stocks, or an estate or makes over 100K a year. And probably never will be! But you know what the sad thing really is? I'm dating this guy! Should I break up with him, or should I latch on and deal?
