If I were not sick and had the day off, I could have had waffles with plantae.

If I were not sick, I could have had lunch with lumiere.

But instead I am sick.

It's not very bad, but it's enough to keep me from strenuous activity and programming. Maybe I'll get some other stuff done today, though. Or read a lot.

I think I've managed to hit a point where I no longer need to push myself to prove to myself that I can push myself, at least in certain domains. It's refreshing and calming. I can detect a bit of the opposite impulse - "I will choose not to push myself because I want to demonstrate that I don't have to push myself" - but not very much. Mostly, ( Read more... )

I can't tell whether my throat is sore from being mildly sick, or from being choked a little too much. Probably it's both.

But although it might be a good idea, I don't think it will stop me from attempting to sing along at the Christmas Revels tonight. :)

Bads:

• Saturday I gashed my left toe open after slipping on a towel at the dojo. I'm still limping around a bit, and it hurts to flex, although the bleeding's stopped.
• Monday I overheated some thick soup in the microwave, and in the course of dropping it from shock, catching it, dropping it again, and trying to recover from all this, it splashed ( Read more... )

I was sick enough two Tuesdays ago that I didn't go in to work. After that, I felt better, but then I stayed up very late Thursday night, which caused my immune system to panic, and so I stayed home Friday. I felt OK over the weekend - I only did the warmups at Quantum - and so I thought I was recovering. But I started to feel worse and worse ( Read more... )
