SPN Weekly Review - Episode 8x08

Nov 29, 2012 20:11

I really enjoyed this episode, it was light, it was funny it was atypical. It was a nice change and episodes of this type and quality are the sort that we have been missing for quite a while (imho).

There were some really great Destiel moments and some lovely platonic (or not if you ship it) Sassy moments. I'm glad they had Sam and Cas without Dean for a little while and vice versa.

Also, I'll say it again, I am loving Castiel's character development. It seems perfect for this point in the show and it working so well. Yes, his Misha is showing (*winks*) but I really am not complaining. He's still quintesentially Cas, he's just you know - grown. Like people (angels, characters) are wont to do.

I was also literally laughing out loud at this episode and that hasn't happened for a while. Like I would chuckle or snicker but a genuine laugh? Nope! Not since season five.

That moment in the motel room when it was just Dean and Castiel was probably one of my favourites. Not only did Castiel tell Dean 'no' (yay! Character growth!) but they also kept up with the novelty of this season: talking. They talked and Dean initiated it. Let me say that again, because this is new:

THEY TALKED AND DEAN INITIATED IT! Was anyone else blown away by that?

Anyway, this episode definitely gets kudos.

My rating:

actor: misha collins, character: castiel, fandom: supernatural, content: team free will, supernatural: weekly review, supernatural: season 8, actor: jensen ackles, character: dean winchester, reaction post, actor: jared padalecki, character: sam winchester
