I miss the summer already.
I want the sun to shine, and
light up everything from behind.
I want to see the leaves
shimmer in the evening light.
I miss the smell of the chlorine
and the little flowers that grow in the woods.
I want the rain to fall just enough
that it's fun to play in,
and leaves behind a rainbow.
I want the clouds that look like
huge cotton balls throw to heaven.
I miss the way the heat of the sun
feels on my skin as I sit by the water
and tell you I love.
I want ice cream to melt and
hot dogs to burn on the grill.
I want to feel the grass on my feet
