Bouncy bouncy!

We started out today... well, by sleeping in late, and having a nice liesurely coffee or three. But around noonish we got a move on, and REALLY started the day, by going to the Texas Sphere Rides. It was... absolutely awesome fun. Insane, deranged, lunatic fun, wherein one straps into a giant inflatable transparent ball, and is rolled end-over-end down a hill. But better than that... BOTH of you are strapped in, facing each other.

The look of alternating delight and dismay on your friend's face (along with the alternating vision of sky and ground beyond them) adds considerably to the experience. Truly, a crazy thing to do, but so much fun. And no hurling! :p We both hope this marks a good start to the year - a good adventure and a lot of fun.

We followed this up by a stop at Black's Barbeque in Lockhart. Yuummmmmmy BBQ, in the "oldest major BBQ restaurant continuously owned by the same family". They've been doin' it since 1932, and they do it right well. I loved the hint of horseradish in the slaw. Yum.

We dragged in nicely late and happily spent, and just... hung around for a while, then I decided to go see Tron. However, when I got there I discovered that showing was sold out, so I opted for True Grit instead. I think I got literally the last seat in the theater, but it was still a good one. The movie had -just- started, so I may have missed a tiny bit, but... daaaaaaamn. That was a good, GOOD movie.

However, in the words of one of the other theater-goers... "It could have had a happier ending". Yeah. That. It was absolutely hilarious, in addition to being gritty and dark. I particularly liked that they didn't re-make the 1969 John Wayne vehicle, they simply ALSO made a movie based on the book. But it is emphatically and absolutely their movie.

In a fit of over-indulgence, I think I'll try for the 9:40 show of Tron.
