Treading forth on nebulous ground
Adrenaline rush makes hearts pound
Beating to a single rhythm
Invincible to attempted schism
Stalwart to the very end
Against all hurt by pretend friends
Protected by his iron arms
Resist corrosion from her "charms"
Brusque remarks strive to scathe
Hurled forth from mouth of female knave
Panic arises, like ocean tide
That his affections will subside
He assures that he is true
He feels nothing for this shrew
Yet he changes with the times
And oft I hear dismissive lines
Gossamer lies from spiders web
He weaves them 'or my heart I dread
And still I trust with my whole soul
For I want not to let him go
