It was still hard to believe that they'd actually done it. They were married. Man and wife, until death did them part. Eleanor had never been so happy in her life.

The reception had been amazing, even better than she'd imagined, but she'd still longed for the moment she and Ernie could sneak away and celebrate their marriage in private. As soon as the cake had been cut, the bouquet had been tossed, and there were no more wedding related festivities they were obligated to see through, Eleanor took hold of her new husband's arm and whispered in his ear that their guests would be fine without them.

Hand in hand they went up to the flat Dean had lent them for the night. She squealed in surprise when Ernie swept her into his arms and carried her inside. "Love you," she whispered against his neck.

He set her down gently, and Eleanor looked around, her eyes filling with tears as they had been intermittently all evening. "It's beautiful, Ernie." And it was. There were flowers, and a bottle of champagne chilling in a bucket. And the bed. The bed looked big enough to sleep a small army.

Wrapping Ernie in a tight hug, Eleanor sniffed softly against his shoulder. "You are, without a doubt, the best husband in the world."

Her husband. She was never going to tire of saying that.
