Taking away a treasured day off had made her hesitant, but the opportunity for team bonding was there - and needed. They'd only had the chance to interact on the pitch recently. Which was of course neccessary, and the most important part, but team coherency demanded more. To get them to know and trust one another, rather than just be a ragtag group of individuals. Comrades in arms, in actually the strictest sense of the words. It had helped, feeling like the underdog, and having to work together in such a short time span to make this work - but again, not quite enough.

Besides, today was about relaxation as much as anything else. They'd done a few flying drills designed to promote trust. Helping a partner fly blindfolded and scoring a goal, the group casting a levicorpus to hold up a team member who would jump from their broom - those kind of things. But that had been kept to a minimum, because most of them had already spent more hours on their brooms in the past months than they had sleeping or eating.

That and the fact most of the team found trust drills more amusing than anything.

They had considered having the meal together afterwards at the Five Alarm, but even with privacy spells cast it was still too public. Instead, Katie had used her personal funds to arrange for food to be delivered from there, along with some beverages of choice, and they'd set up an area near the nearly completed Quidditch pitch just outside town. Everyone was there now, eating and laughing. Katie took a sip of her beer, satisfied at how it was going. Even Welling was fitting in better than before, though he still wasn't exactly thrilled with the female contingent.

Accepting a pint from Rufus as he slid into a seat beside her, Katie was hesitant to break up the easy and relaxed comraderie. But, they had some bonding 'activities' - for lack of a better word, to do. Perhaps not intended to completely bare their souls to one another, but to get beyond the level of casual acquiantance most of them seemed to be at.

"What do you think?" Katie turned to Alicia, speaking quietly as people talked around them. "The psychobabble bonding first, or shall we announce our official captain as is going to be listed on the team register for the game next weekend?" The decision to name Alicia official captain had come late. In terms of actual duties they were all splitting them, but in terms of making something official as they had to for the tournament, and they couldn't list all three of them - she and Oliver had decided it should be Alicia. Something they actually agreed on for once. It wouldn't have been something she had thought of herself, but it simplified a lot of things. A good buffer between her and Oliver, and they would have the little A on their shoulder denoting alternate-captains.
